#12 Correspondences between the first (6+6) enfolded polygons, the 3-d Sri Yantra, the 64 hexagrams and the disdyakis triacontahedron
The 168:24:24:168 pattern is characteristic of holistic systems. For example:
Inner Tree of Life
Associated with each set of the first six enfolded polygons are
168 red/blue yods and 24 white/black corners outside the root edge.
3-dimensional Sri Yantra
168 red/blue yods line the 21 triangles in each half surrounding the
central one. At their centres are 21 white/black hexagonal yods. The central triangle has
three white hexagonal yods and three black hexagonal yods on its sides. The 3-dimensional Sri Yantra has
168 red yods, 24 white yods, 168 blue yods & 24 black yods.
64 hexagrams of the I Ching
table
168 red/blue lines & broken lines form the 28 off-diagonal hexagrams in each
diagonal half of the 8×8 array of hexagrams. 24 white/black lines & broken lines form the eight diagonal
hexagrams.
Disdyakis triacontahedron
168 red/blue hexagonal yods and 24 white/black vertices line the 84/84 sides of the disdyakis
triacontahedron above/below its equatorial plane perpendicular to an axis passing through two diametrically
opposite A vertices.
This pattern is discussed in The holistic pattern under the heading "192 = 24 + 168".
