This displays more clearly the zig-zagging of notes in successive octaves of the Pythagorean scale. Alternating black and white dots on the vertical dashed lines denote notes of successive octaves. As would be expected, the perfect fourths of each octave are the half-way (or turning) point in the cycle of generation of each octave (1→2→4, etc).
