#21 Correspondence between the inner Tree of Life and the 2-d Sri Yantra
When they are Type A triangles, the 94 sectors of the (7+7) enfolded polygons of the inner Tree of Life contain 1370 yods (see here). Outside the root edge containing four yods are (1370 – 4 = 1366) yods, that is, each set of seven enfolded polygons has (1366/2 = 683) yods. Including the four yods in their shared root edge, either set contains 687 yods. Compare this with the 2-dimensional Sri Yantra with 43 Type A triangles. A Type A triangle has 19 yods, so that it has 16 yods other than its three corners. The 43 Type A triangles have (43×16 = 688) yods other than their 69 corners. Therefore, 687 yods other than corners surround the central bindu point (for clarity — less it be thought as included in the 687 yods — this yod is omitted from the diagram). Just as 687 yods are needed to construct the seven enfolded polygons, so 687 extra yods are required to transform the 43 triangles of the 2-dimensional Sri Yantra into Type A triangles, starting with the bindu point at its centre. This is a remarkable demonstration that analogous, holistic structures are characterized by the same parameters.
